Your enjoyable activity days around Winningen!

Steep, beautiful and natural.

Simply forget time - while strolling through the alleyways of Winningen or hiking through the vineyards terraced with slate. A special tip involves the certified “Traumpfädchen” paths, which link up with the famous Moselsteig trail. Fill your evenings with the culinary delights of Winningen's refined gastronomy.  Starting from Winningen, a varied hike over the Moselsteig trail (Etappe 23) takes you to Kobern-Gondorf. The twin locality is another highlight for romantics and the palaces and castles provide any modern-day enchanted knights and damsels with a feast for the eyes. The Moseltraum Traumpfädchen path comes highly recommended on short winter days.

Winningen is also an ideal holiday destination for those who want to experience the hustle and bustle and cultural vibrancy of the nearby major city of Koblenz, but who at the same time long for a quiet, more rural retreat to stay and enjoy.

Koblenz is a museum city: modern art, contemporary history, technology...all this can be seen here in wonderfully equipped collections, along with the Romanticum, the Ludwig Museum or the Rheinischen Landesmuseum at Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. A spectacular cable car trip over the Rhine links the picturesque old town with the huge, once Prussian fortress complex. From up here, you have one of the most beautiful picture-perfect scenes in Germany: the confluence of the Rhine and Mosel at the Deutsches Eck, set off by a monumental memorial, with the city and its churches and alleyways forming a backdrop.
