The inspiring exhibition ‘KUNST BEWEGT / ART MOVES" by Mana Binz at the Städtische Galerie Altes Rathaus in Wittlich.
‘MANA BINZ - KUNST BEWEGT’ exhibition at the Altes Rathaus municipal gallery From 13 October 2024 to 2 February 2025
The exhibition ‘MANA BINZ - KUNST BEWEGT’ can be seen at the Städtische Galerie im Alten Rathaus in Wittlich. Under the motto ‘Art moves’, the artist Mana Binz is showing works of her glass, textile and installation art. The exhibition presents itself like a theatre play on whose stage life is laid out like a play: Existential themes of life, experiences and relationships are thematised, wishes, dreams and longings are addressed. The exhibition focuses on the expressive mobile frescoes created by Mana Binz in the 1990s, which conquer the rooms of the museum in their monumental size, as well as selected exhibits of her special glass and installation art. Characteristic of Mana Binz's art are the main themes of mobility, change, identity, freedom and development: colour, form and whatever springs from the human soul and desire are reflected in her works of art. The artist, who comes from Lieser on the Moselle, attended the Aufbaugymnasium in Wittlich from 1964 to 1970 and worked in Brussels for many years after completing her studies. It was during this time that she created her mobile textile frescoes. At the beginning of 2000, Mana Binz set up an art workshop in Lieser, which is known as ‘Paulushof’ and comprises over seven houses. Information about the exhibition and requests for guided tours can be sent by email to hallo@tourist.wittlich.de or by telephone on 06571-1466-0.
