Märchenhaftes Wittlich 2025

From early November until just before Christmas, Wittlich is all about fantasy: the “Fairytale Wittlich” program invites children, families, and all fairytale lovers to a variety of lovingly designed events. It all kicks off on November 5, 2025, with a legends and fairy tales workshop by the Märchenschwestern (Fairy Tale Sisters). Throughout the month, there will be open reading and craft afternoons, children's activities at WILàvie, and workshops by the Kinderschutzbund (Child Protection Association), bringing the “magical world of fairy tales” to life. The city library, Makerspace, FamOS family network, and Kinopalast cinema are also participating with creative offerings—from Kamishibai readings to children's cinema and craft activities to picture book cinemas for children aged 4 and up. Accompanying these events, several fairy tale exhibitions and window displays will be on show in the city from November 5 – for example, at WILàvie, the tourist information office, and the “Lieserperlchen.” December will be particularly festive: as part of the Wittlich Christmas Days, visitors can look forward to fairy tale readings, face painting, a fairy tale rally through the city center, and a theater program for preschoolers. “Fairytale Wittlich” is the result of collaboration between numerous committed individuals and organizations in Wittlich – from the city library to the cultural office, associations, artists, and schools. A fairytale program that connects the heart, imagination, and community!
