moselmusikfestival - Spätlese 1 - Literary guests & Stefanie Boltz Trio

  • Bernkastel-Kues
  • 01.10.2024Dates overview
  • 19:00 - 21:00

A new format in a new venue for the 2024 festival finale. Since 2022, Deinhard's has been a unique venue on the banks of the Moselle in Bernkastel-Kues, where everything revolves around art, culture, enjoyment and entertainment.

The moselmusikfestival office has also found a new home under this roof and has added a new format to its programme especially for this purpose: the moselmusikfestival - Spätlese. Guests from the current literary scene will provide insights into their work. The two evenings are also framed by high-calibre music. Stefanie Boltz, one of Germany's most prominent jazz musicians, has been invited to launch this new series. Together with her musical partners Christian Wegscheider and Christoph Pepe Auer, she will be presenting excerpts from her latest project "Female". Hildegard von Bingen, Fanny Mendelssohn, Clara Schumann, Carole King, Nadia Boulanger, Nina Simone, Abbey Lincoln, Ma Rainey and Bessie Smith are just a few examples of women who were sometimes celebrated, sometimes forgotten and sometimes recognised too late. In the "Female" programme, heroines from the Middle Ages and classical music, pioneers of the blues, "women in jazz" and contemporary songwriters take to the stage together. Stefanie Boltz and her trio follow their individual paths. Collage-like snapshots of the artists' lives and times bring us just as close to them as their works.
