Grapes with a fruity taste and good aroma thrive on our steep slopes, the basis for exquisite wines. The "Himmelreich", the "Schloßberg" and the "Sonnenuhr" are sites that have an excellent reputation on the Moselle. The steep slope "Zeltinger Sonnenuhr" in particular enjoys long and intense sunshine. The combination of slate rock, climate, grape variety and 2000 years of winemaking tradition produces elegant and mineral wines of unique character. The Devonian slate, a lime-free rock weathers very easily, the components decompose and enrich the soil, are dissolved in the groundwater and reabsorbed by the vines.
