The five musicians made their debut as early as 2002 when they took part in the national competition "Jugend musiziert" - with outstanding success: they were awarded 1st prize with the highest score. Further successes are the 1st prize at the European Music Prize for Youth 2004 in Dubrovnik, furthermore the outstanding ensemble playing was honoured with the Special Prize for Best Performance. In 2005 they won 3rd prize at the International Chamber Music Competition Interlaken. Since then, the ensemble has performed on important national and international stages, at festivals and chamber music series. It is also a vocation for the Weimar Wind Quintet to pass on the knowledge they have acquired over years of working together to future generations. The musicians complement their work with regular academies, courses and master classes. The quintet is supported by the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.
