It is absurd to speak of the ignorance of youth. (Oscar Wilde in: The Picture of Dorian Gray).
The roots and effects of the age of youth are illuminated and brought to radiance in poetry, prose, songs, and music. Songs by Richard Strauss, Karol Szymanowski, Alban Berg, and Claude Debussy celebrate youth. Nelly Sachs and the lesser-known Klara Blum let Frank Schablewski sing of the youthful lover in their poems, as if love were a privilege of youth. He will weave in, among other things, Tuvia Rübner's "In Praise of Beauty" and recite his own poems and prose on the subject between the musical performances.
