"Engelskapellchen" (Angel chapel) The "Engelskapellchen" also called the "Muttergotteskapelle" ( Mother of God chapel ) was built from the wine-grower family "Engel". Since then it will be well prerserved from generation to generation. Located in the midst of the vineyards, leads a path from the "B 53" to the chapel. The inner is very spacious.
The Engel Chapel, also known as the Mother of God Chapel, was built in 1886 by the Engel winemaker family. Since then, it has been maintained and lovingly cared for from generation to generation. Located in the middle of the vineyards, a path leads from B 53 to the chapel. The interior is very spacious. On a pedestal, in a recessed niche, stands a sculpture. This depicts the sorrowful Mother Mary wearing a crown, holding the body of her divine son on her lap. In front of this pedestal stands a wrought-iron, seven-branched candle holder. Above the chapel rises a wrought-iron cross. The story of the chapel's establishment from the Kaimt parish chronicle: "Gertrud Schawo, born Wolf, who died on August 30, 1869, expressed in her last will the wish to establish a chapel in honor of the Mother of God. After the death of Josef Schawo on January 28, 1886, the stepson Heinrich Engel fulfilled this last will and had the chapel built at the so-called 'Woweg.' It was consecrated on the 13th Sunday after Pentecost, on the Feast of the Birth of Mary, September 12, 1886, simultaneously with the statue of the Sorrowful Mother of God."
