Wine, sausage and song hike

Enkirch, a flourishing tourist town on the Moselle, advertises its impressive landscape and can count itself among the most beautiful hiking areas in Germany.

The Mandolin Orchestra 1926 Enkirch e.V. has come up with a very special hiking offer to combine exercise in the great outdoors, old songs and culinary delights. The "Wine, Sausage and Song Hike" used to lead along part of the "Hiking Trail of Songs".

In 2021, the name was changed to "Wine, Sausage and Song Event in the Großbach Valley". On the old lawn in the old swimming pool, tables and benches under shady trees await the participants. Under expert commentary, 8 wines and 8 harmonising types of sausage from the local "World and European Champion Butcher's" will be tasted. The whole thing is spiced up with wine and local anecdotes. One participant commented: "Put the sausage in, chew it, pour the wine over it, finish it off". Before each rehearsal, a well-known hiking song is sung with accordion accompaniment.

The next event is on Saturday, 31 August 2024, starting at 1.3o p.m. at Brunnenplatz 2 in Enkirch in front of the Tourist-Info. From here, the hike takes about 2 km into the Großbachtal valley. A small snack will be served at 2 stops along the way.
The fee is € 22.00 per participant.
