The Alf, or Alfbach, is an approximately 52 km long tributary of the Moselle in Rhineland-Palatinate. It overcomes a difference in altitude of 454 m to the Moselle, which equals an average bottom gradient of 8.6 ‰.

The Alfbach rises in the Eifel near Hörscheid at an altitude of 549 m above sea level and flows in a southerly direction. It flows past Darscheid, Gillenfeld and Strohn to Bausendorf. From here the Alf flows in an easterly direction past Kinderbeuern and Bengel, whereby after passing Bengel the course of the watercourse swings northwards. At Alf, the Alfbach, coming from the districts of Höllenthal and Alf-Fabrik, finally flows into the Moselle. The section of the stream near the municipality of Alf can be seen in the map view.
