The long way from the inconspicuous rough stone to the sparkling jewel: in the Gemstone Museum Cochem you can experience the fascinating world of gemstones, minerals and fossils. In the immediate vicinity of the Gemstone Museum you will also find the historic agate cutting and faceting workshop.
Gemstones, minerals and fossils from the region, from Germany and from all over the world are exhibited here. Learn more about Eifel volcanism, to which the Eastern Eifel in particular owes its precious gemstones. One admission ticket entitles you to visit both the historic cutting workshops and the gemstone museum! Location: in Cochem's old town centre between the Moselle promenade and the historic market square (each approx. 30m) in Kirchgasse 6. Access to the cutting workshops and museum via the main entrance at Unterbachstr. 5.
