The Dortebach valley is a unique, alpine-looking Moselle side valley and a nature reserve of particular beauty near the municipality of Klotten. A remarkable and rare flora and fauna has settled in this valley. Follow the signs with the lizard's logo. This leads you from the hiking car park on the Moselle (B49) after 700 meters to a waterfall that offers a welcome cooling in summer and grows into an imposing ice wall in winter. Serpentines take you to the mountain plateau in the “Klottener Neuwald” and to the “Annischerhof”. From there you will be led past orchards to the “Kasteschkopp” lookout point, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Moselle valley and the vineyard terraces. From there you hike again serpentines down to the valley floor and then back to the starting point at the hiking car park.
