- Dieblich
In the last big Moselbogen located, about 13 km from the mouth of the Rhine, broadly executed superimposed on a slope, the 922 as Dunericha first mentioned Dieblich. It is knowingly populated since Celtic times and the fertile land in the vast Moselschleife with the gentle slopes towards the mountain and the subsequent plateau since ancient times was the basis for intensive agriculture. Even in 1800 the wine in Dieblich with 274,000 floor (usually red) has had a paramount importance. Today mainly Riesling grapes are grown on only 5 hectares. In return, the fruit production has greatly developed. Dieblich is a "Kirschenort" and at flowering lure his gorgeous-white fruit meadow slopes many visitors.
Around 1800, the wine in Dieblich with 274,000 floor (mostly red wine) was of paramount importance. Today Riesling grapes are grown on only 5 hectares. For this, the fruit growing has developed strongly. Dieblich is a place of cherry and at the time of flowering its magnificent white orchards attract many visitors.
In the Middle Ages Dieblich belonged to Kurtrier and was secured by a ring wall with gates. Nothing has remained of that, but the "Heesenburg" and the "Zanderburg" (former vicarage) are preserved next to a number of old half-timbered houses.
From the previous century comes the old school (1829) of the famous master builder J. Cl. by Lassaulx (today municipal administration) and the catholic parish church pc. Johannes (1844 - 48) of its colleague Friedrich fog.
Just a few kilometers away from Dieblich, the A 61 motorway crosses the Moselle on an impressive 135-meter-high valley bridge. Since the earliest merchants passed through our country in prehistoric times, crossing the Mosel valley with its steep flanks had always been tedious. On the A 61 the driver hardly notices that he is coming from Hunsrück into the Eifel.
