Beautiful view in the Meulenwald...
The forest fire area of April 2020 became the "Meulenwald-Moseltal View" in 2021.
The idea is to offer forest visitors a place to take a break and relax while informing and raising awareness about forest-related topics, including forest fire risk and forest in climate change.
A family-friendly footbridge and various seating options were built at the new lookout using wood from the Meulen Forest. In the spring of 2021, the burned trees were removed and the stumps were removed and a footbridge and benches were built with Douglas fir and black locust logs.
The Meulenwald Moselle Valley View is a fascinating new viewing platform above the chapel at the Heilbrunnen.
