Townscapes and village scenery Bernkastel-Kues

  • Bernkastel Kues

With its medieval old town, romantic narrow streets and impressive timber-framed builings, Bernkastel is predestined for a romantic holiday on the Moselle.

Bernkastel: The historic market square, Landshut castle and the hospitality of Bernkastel´s inhabitants are outstanding.
A nice stroll through the romantic alleyways of the old town is one of the highlights of a stay at Bernkastel-Kues. The small, lovingly maintained shops and boutiques, the welcoming cafés and restaurants, the impressive, age-old half-timbered houses - you get pure Moselle enjoyment here.

Kues: Most hotels, guesthouses and apartments are located in Kues, the largest district of Bernkastel-Kues. The birthplace of Nicholas of Cusa is the ideal place for a wine holiday on the Moselle, thanks to the wine museum, wine shops and numerous wine estates. Many sports and leisure activities make Kues particularly attractive for families.

Andel: Lush green flood plains along the Moselle, bright red poppy meadows, sunny steep slope vineyards and wooded hills: Andel has a lot of leisure activities to offer - not only for cyclists and hikers: Inline skating right next to the Moselle, canoeing along the river bank or flying on a seaplane - Andel is ideal for active and sportive vacationists.

Kues Plateau: Due to its healthy climate, Kues plateau has been an official health resort since 2005. Wellness & spa, cycling, hiking, horse riding, Nordic Walking: On the Plateau, active holidays and relaxing tranquility go hand in hand.

Wehlen: Wehlen district is famous for its wine. Due to the many hiking possibilities on the Wehlen Plateau, the beautiful half-timbered houses and the scenic landscape, it is ideal for a family holiday. Wehlen is famous for its wines from the "Wehlener Sonnenuhr" vineyard site. The steep slope vineyard, right on the banks of the Moselle, produces one of the most elegant white wines on earth.
