Circular hike, mostly flat, on vineyard paths: partly asphalted. The tour runs between the wine villages Maring-Noviand and Osann-Monzel.

Starting point of the hike is Maring-Noviand. The village consists of the districts Maring, Noviand and Siebenborn. The village is situated in a glacial valley of the Moselle. In the district of Siebenborn there is the impressive monastery complex of a former Cistercian monastery and the former monastery mill - from here the "Zwei Täler Blick" trail starts.Without any significant gradients, this circular trail is also suitable for families. The vineyard paths are wide and easy to walk.Insights into the hiking tour:The name says it all: Between the wine villages of Maring-Noviand and Osann-Monzel, this hiking trail opens up views of the Lieser and Moselle valleys. It leads directly through the Liesertal and the Oesteltal. At the end of the hike, the water-tretanna of Osann-Monzel will entice you - especially in summer a wonderful refreshment for your feet. With a length of approx. 15 km, the Zwei-Täler-Blick-Weg is an excellent half-day tour.  During a stop at a winery, the landscape can be virtually tasted with pleasure. Refreshment stops can be found along the way.

General information

Directions

From the car park at the Siebenborn monastery, the Zwei-Täler-Blick trail starts slightly uphill up the road. Along fields and pastures it leads you past a farm. Just behind the farm you turn left. The path winds further uphill. You continue walking up the honey mountain. Then you turn right into the vineyards. A unique panorama accompanies you through the vineyards. If you turn your gaze upwards, you can read the time and position of the sun on the Maringer sundial.A vineyard path leads you to the village of Maring. Narrow alleyways pass you to reach the children's playground and then the church St. Remigius. Via the stairs at the church St. Remigius you walk through the Kirchenweg, past the Künstlerhof, into the Liesertalstraße. A bridge leads you into Maringer-Schweiz. Just after the bridge a narrow path branches off to the right. Along the slate rock you walk on a path through the Liesertal where rare plant and animal species live. Once again a magnificent view opens up, this time of the Honigberg, over which you hiked at the beginning of the tour. A bench invites you to take a short rest. Passing the cross you turn left, along more fields. Over a bridge you reach an open landscape of meadows, pastures and fields, which you pass in a straight direction. Then you walk slightly uphill. Over a short path you reach the Brauneberg.Parallel to the hiking trail "Jufferweg" the route leads you in the direction of Osann-Monzel. While the Jufferweg then leads to the left into the valley, the two-valley view runs straight ahead to the "Weitblick", to Zalzert and then past a few wineries towards the centre of Monzel. Continue over the bridge to Osann. Just after the bridge you should change sides of the road to take a quick look at the small museum in Moseltalstraße. At the Osann church "St. Peter" turn right into the street "Steinrausch". Then you go through a small alleyway and turn right into the Oestelbachtal. At an orchard a meadow path leads you directly to the Oestelbach. After crossing the wooden bridge you will find the recreation area with a water treading pool by Osann-Monzel. Between cornfields and pastures you walk in the direction of Noviand. You cross the district road and walk towards the centre of the village. Turn left into the Akazienweg and walk down into the Bachtal valley. Afterwards you return through the village to the starting point at the monastery of Siebenborn.

Safety Guidelines

Wide roads offer sufficient alternative possibilities.

Equipment

Hiking or trekking shoes, rucksack food if necessary.

Tip

Especially in summer, when the temperature on the vineyard paths rises slightly above 30 degrees, a detour in the water treading pool is a pleasant change.
