Spring Awakening in the Ceramics Workshops

Spring Awakening in the Pottery Workshops at the 21st "Day of Open Pottery" on March 14 and 15, 2026

Under the motto "Look, Touch, Marvel," over 500 ceramicists nationwide are opening their doors. 27 workshops in Rhineland-Palatinate invite you to experience the variety of handmade ceramics up close.

Visitors can take a look behind the scenes: guided tours, demonstrations at the pottery wheel, firing processes such as Raku, and hands-on activities like painting cups in Lehmen with Ute Bruns make this traditional yet highly relevant craft directly tangible, allowing each visitor to experience the intangible cultural heritage individually. The focus is on encounters, conversations, and relaxing hours in the studios.

Whether functional tableware, artistic vessels, jewelry, or experimental sculptures – handmade ceramics impress with quality, expressiveness, and sustainability. For many, the "Day of Open Pottery" has long been a fixed date and the kickoff to the pottery year 2026.

Those who wish to go on a "Ceramics Tour" on the second weekend in March in their region, state, or throughout Germany, Belgium, and Luxembourg should visit:

Involved are 517 potters, ceramicists, designers, and artists in Germany, and since last year, in the neighboring countries of Belgium and Luxembourg.
