Piano Evening Thomas Hell (Germany)
Doors open at 6:00 PM, concert begins at 7:00 PM
"Intelligence and virtuosity come together here," describes Alfred Brendel the playing of the German pianist Thomas Hell, winner of national and international competitions (including First Prize at the Concours International de Piano d´Orléans). An extensive solo and chamber music career has taken him, in addition to concerts in Europe, to Japan and Russia as well. He is a guest at international music festivals and in renowned concert halls. Thomas Hell not only masters the standard repertoire but also a large part of the piano music of the 20th and 21st centuries. His playing is characterized by a clever penetration of musical structures combined with a naturalness and directness of musical expression. Following his impressive debut in the Piano Summer 2018, Thomas Hell presents this time an exquisite program featuring Beethoven's Sonata op. 109, Enescu's magnificent 2nd Suite, Bach's Toccata in D Major, as well as Brahms' monumental Handel Variations – a pianistic celebration!
