Adolf Hitler knew nothing of Anne Frank, but she was very much aware of him. Hitler's "struggle" is what testifies to and ends Anne Frank's history. At the end of February, beginning of March 1945, she dies in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. Her diary remains.

In this stage program, you will experience how the two texts clash in a sharply cut reading. Horror and hope, beast and young girl, idea and its consequences for an individual life. In a time when the right-wing is gaining strength again, it is important to highlight the struggle of the small diary against the great dictator, in order to once again develop a sensitivity and awareness for the subtleties of history. Because history always consists of stories. And stories consist of fates.

The cabaret artist and singer MARIANNE BLUM and the actor THOMAS LINKE guarantee an evening that, despite the heaviness of the subject, is not only educational but also entertaining, just as Anne Frank's text is not only sad but also passionate and humorous, and Hitler's work is not only frightening but sometimes also absurd. With respect and sensitivity, the two artists approach the books and present them so skillfully and captivatingly that the historical reality comes alive for the audience, while the reference to the present becomes frighteningly obvious.

The reading will be musically complemented by authentic Yiddish songs (partly created in the ghetto or in labor camps), German hits, popular tunes, and endurance songs from that time, which will be sung live by MARIANNE BLUM. They not only add the authentic sound of the era to the piece, but also powerfully bring the entirety of the persecuted onto the stage, for whom Anne Frank is a prominent example. This is a vibrant history lesson and powerful literatainment!
