Art exhibition - Flow of colours 1951

Gabbro Kokott has been developing a photographic language for 22 years to express her everyday life through poetry, and in doing so has created her PHOTOPOETRY.

Her focus is always on letting things speak for themselves as they have unfolded, as they are—never moving, positioning, or arranging objects just for the sake of a photograph—everyday poetry. Her photographs are original shots that have not been digitally retouched. Her PHOTOPOETRY begins where everyday life pauses briefly. “Everyday life, actually invisible until you look more closely. A shadow shifts, a glance lingers, a movement distorts: These images tell exactly that: fleeting, taken for granted, unnoticed—more than they actually intended.” (Quote: Gabbro Kokott & AI) The images in this special exhibition do exactly that: they capture what would otherwise be overlooked and translate it into a language of their own—quiet, poetic, sometimes with a wink—almost like a haiku, only without counting syllables. The exhibition, which runs from May 17 to June 28, officially opens on Sunday, May 17, at 3:00 p.m. The Villa Romana will be open that day starting at 2:30 p.m. for stimulating conversations over coffee and cake.
