  • 14:00 - 17:00

Exhibition at the Municipal Gallery "Mühlen im Liesertal" from April 19 to October 20, 2026

For the first time, the history of the mills in the Liesertal is being presented at the Städtische Galerie Wittlich.
Mills have been technological cornerstones of human civilization for millennia: they tamed the forces of nature and made their energy usable, shaped the economy and landscape of their region, and were found in every settlement.
Selected mills in Liesertal, from Rothmühle to Schladter Mühle, that were of economic and cultural relevance to the city of Wittlich and the region will be presented, focusing on their development, cultural, and craft history.

A stunning catalog will be published in conjunction with the exhibition, showcasing the mills in Liesertal and their history. The exhibition will be on display throughout the 2026 wandering season from April 19 to October 30. As part of the exhibition, the Tourist Information Wittlich Stadt & Land, in cooperation with the Cultural Office, the Eifelverein OG Wittlich, and Albert Klein, will offer romantic mill tours to a total of six mills in the city area on selected dates throughout the summer. Tickets for the mill tours will be available from mid-April at www.ticket-regional.de.
