Autorenlesung „Pride began on Christopher Street“

Pride+ | Time for Diversity

“Pride began on Christopher Street” compellingly tells the story of the origins of the LGBTQ+ movement, connecting to historical events in New York and showing that the struggle for visibility, equality, and self-determination is still not complete even nearly 60 years after the riots surrounding the bar “Stonewall Inn.” That’s why Christopher Street Day is celebrated year after year and is more than just a flamboyant party: “The first Pride was a rebellion.”

Christian Handel (born 1978 in Lohr am Main) and Andreas Suchanek (born 1982 in Landau) are versatile and successful authors across various genres. With their novel, they invite readers to learn more about the exciting stories behind the turmoil.

Presented by Pride+ and BUNT 56 e.V. with the kind support of Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz – Stiftung, the Koblenz Cultural Foundation, and the Sander Hotels. Moderated by Astrid Fries and Christian Eyter.
