The Bläck Fööss were founded on August 15, 1970. They have since been a fixed part of the cultural scene in Cologne and belong to Cologne like the Cathedral.
Behind the band lie 55 years with continuously between 200 and 250 performances per year. Currently, 44 albums and more than 450 songs are the proud balance of this half century of musical creation. The band's contribution to the preservation of the Kölsch language is widely recognized, and many songs from their vast collection have long since become evergreen hits. Some have even attained the status of folk songs and are firmly part of the Kölsch repertoire.
