Horst Eckert, freelance journalist and author, brings "The Intern" to "Book on!"
He reads from his freshly printed thriller at the Holy Spirit Church, which will be released on March 11. The basis for Eckert's novels is political crime material. In 2024, he was awarded the Political Crime Prize of the Heinrich Böll Foundation Baden-Württemberg. He received the Stuttgart Crime Nights Award for Best Economic Thriller in 2022. Eckert was recently in Bernkastel-Kues with "Night of the Traitors," a book about the Mocro Mafia concerning the European cocaine trade that captivated visitors.
In "The Intern," it revolves around her - Carla Bergmann, new to the local editorial team of the Morgenpost. While covering a police report about a break-in at regime-critical exiled Russians, she discovers inconsistencies. It seems likely that the Russian secret service is behind it. But why did German authorities want to cover up the case? After an informant is murdered before Carla's eyes, she receives support from capital city correspondent Jan Koller. In their quest for the truth, Carla and Jan encounter increasingly greater resistance, even within their own house. And faster than they realize, their own lives are also in danger.
Book simply and conveniently in the online experience shop.
17 Euro, including 1 glass of wine (during the break).
