Bundesjugendorchester – Mosel Musikfestival 2025

The Mosel Music Festival presents the National Youth Orchestra on Thursday, 7 August 2025, 7.30 p.m. at the Eventum.

German National Youth Orchestra - Rachel Frenkel, mezzo-soprano - Dirk Kaftan, conductor
Gustav Mahler's 4th Symphony is one of his most cheerful and accessible works. ‘Each of the first three movements is thematically connected to the last in the most intimate and meaningful way,’ Mahler himself wrote about his work. The interpretation by the Bundesjugendorchester (BJO) under the direction of the Wittlich-born conductor and Bonn general music director Dirk Kaftan promises a concert experience in the festival programme full of rousing energy and impressive professionalism. Germany's youngest top orchestra is made up of up-and-coming musicians aged between 14 and 19. Every year - coached by professionals from Germany's best orchestras - they create an exceptional sound quality that regularly delights the press and audience.
