Soloist: Kerstin Bauer
Since 1953, a musical force in Germany: the State Police Orchestra of Rhineland-Palatinate. For 70 years, it has been a sympathetic promoter and musical ambassador of the federal state along the Rhine and Moselle. On Sunday, January 25, 2026, at 5:00 PM, the ensemble will perform at the St. Medardus Parish Church in Mehring. The proceeds will support the work of the Children, Youth, and Family Support Palais e.V. Trier. At the same time, the concert marks the festive kickoff for the anniversary celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the association in 2026. The symphonic wind orchestra, consisting of 40 professional musicians, combines instrumental virtuosity with orchestral brilliance – and this has become known: numerous gala and concert events illustrate the unbridled demand. The orchestra's repertoire is wide-ranging, encompassing everything from classical symphonic music to contemporary original literature. Through concerts throughout Germany and in various European countries, as well as numerous appearances on radio and television, the group, which performs with charming enthusiasm, has gained great fame and is now one of the most renowned wind orchestras in the Federal Republic.
As the soloist of the evening, the orchestra welcomes the singer Kerstin Bauer, who was born in Trier. She began her classical vocal training in 2008 at the Hochschule für Musik Köln and continued her studies at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City. She was a scholarship recipient of the DAAD for an artistic postgraduate study in the USA and of the Richard Wagner Association Trier/Luxembourg. In addition to her work as an opera and concert singer, she is also active in popular music and was part of the ensemble of the German original production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera at the Metronom Theater Oberhausen. The State Police Orchestra of Rhineland-Palatinate is under the musical direction of Florian Weber.
