Nils Kugelmann, born in 1996, made a name for himself as a versatile sideman and played with ensembles such as the Benny Golson Quartet and Trio Elf. In 2023, his debut album Stormy Beauty (ACT Music) was released featuring Luca Zambito (piano) and Sebastian Wolfgruber (drums), which was enthusiastically received by critics and nominated for the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik. This was followed by international tours with performances at festivals and clubs such as Jazz Festival Quito, Ronnie Scott’s in London, Bird’s Eye Basel, Jazzahead, the Leverkusener Jazztage, and Jazzhall Hamburg. In 2025, the trio released their second album Life Score (ACT), which is currently being presented worldwide.
