The free e-bike training is part of the project "Fit² with the E-Bike," which was initiated by the GKV Alliance for Health and is funded by the statutory health insurance companies as well as the Accident Insurance Fund of Rhineland-Palatinate. The goal of the project is to improve the safety and health of e-cyclists in road traffic.

Bicycles with electric motors are becoming increasingly popular. This is good for the environment, climate, and health. The ADFC Rheinland-Pfalz prepares people in Rheinland-Pfalz for the E-Bike. The training concept was developed by experts and conveys safety and health aspects.

The free E-Bike training is part of the project "Fit² with the E-Bike," which was initiated by the GKV-Bündnis für Gesundheit and is funded by the statutory health insurance companies and the accident insurance fund Rheinland-Pfalz. The aim of the project is to improve the safety and
health of E-Bike users in road traffic. The training is aimed at all E-Bike riders aged 18 and over,
who want to improve their riding technique and be safer in road traffic.

Participants must bring their own E-Bike as well as a helmet. Under the guidance of a qualified ADFC trainer, participants will learn what to pay attention to when starting, riding, cornering, and braking with motor assistance. Additionally, the interplay between gears and assistance, as well as the principle of assistance levels depending on pedaling frequency, will be explained. Practical tips for training balance, strength, and endurance, as well as for everyday E-Bike use – such as tipping the bike, pushing, lifting, and transporting – will round off the course.

The training takes place at Marienplatz in Saarburg-Beurig (Klosterstraße 50, 54439 Saarburg).
Prior registration via the website www.fit2ebike.de is required.
Participation is free for all insured persons of the statutory health insurance companies and for insured persons of the accident insurance fund Rheinland-Pfalz, who receive a participation code from there.
Privately insured individuals can participate in the training for a fee of €45, if there are still available spots.
