True poetry swings between melancholy and joy of life – a balance that Ecos de Siboney masterfully controls. Their name, the "Echoes of Siboney," is a nod to the indigenous roots of Cuba and the longing for home. As grandsons of the legend Compay Segundo, Ernesto, Leonardo, and Alejandro Repilado carry a tremendous legacy: Their grandfather, architect of modern Son Cubano and face of the Buena Vista Social Club, personally appointed them as his successors.
Under the credo "Somos los herederos" (We are the heirs), they bring the vocalized poetry of the world star to Trier. In addition to immortal classics such as "Chan Chan" and "Guantanamera," the eight-member octet presents award-winning original compositions that breathe fresh energy into traditional Son. When the Tres guitar sounds in the courtyard, Havana and Trier merge into one. And it becomes clear: The grandsons not only preserve the trail of their grandfather – they leave their own unmistakable mark with every beat.
