It was planned as a multi-part column: “Everything was different back then.” But in the end, it became a series that stretched over a year – the readers of the Trierischer Volksfreund wanted it that way. Week after week, author Frank Jöricke took them on his journey through a lost world. A world where Dr. Sommer and Sunday roast provided orientation. Teenagers learned Cha-Cha-Cha in dance schools while their parents hopped around wildly in the party cellar. When things had to be done quickly, a telegram was sent. And beer was consumed more quickly in the evenings because of the closing time. When thinking of “single,” one didn’t think of a relationship status but rather a small record. Times were different.
