Emil Brandqvist Trio

Poems for Travellers - Tour 2026.

The Emil Brandqvist Trio from Scandinavia is already among the top European piano jazz formations. Behind the ensemble are Swedish drummer and composer Emil Brandqvist, Finnish pianist Tuomas A. Turunen, and Swedish bassist Max Thornberg. Since their debut "Breathe Out" (2013), the trio has captured the hearts of jazz lovers across Europe with poetic melodies, complex arrangements, and a unique sound aesthetic.

The trio's music blends elements of jazz, classical music, and Nordic folklore, characterized by atmospheric harmonies and a deeply felt sense of melody. At the same time, the trio remains stylistically challenging yet very accessible. Their previous releases have already set benchmarks: several albums reached top positions in the German Jazz charts, with their work "Entering the Woods" (2020) achieving 2nd place. Furthermore, the band was awarded a Special Award in 2024 for over 50 million streams of their pieces, an exceptional milestone for the instrumental jazz genre. These successes reflect not only the quality of their music but also their significant resonance with the audience.

With their latest work "Poems for Travellers" (release date: April 4, 2025), they take a step back to the core: the trio, for the first time completely without guests, fully focuses on the interplay of the three voices. Based on compositions by the three musicians, the pieces unfold through melodic clarity, emotional depth, and chamber music finesse. By reaching 1st place in the German Jazz charts for "Poems for Travellers," the band has now crowned their decade-long success story.

Doors open at 7:00 PM. Event starts at 8:00 PM.
