Hiking, potato pancakes & castle maidens
The approximately 12-kilometer cultural and historical hike leads along the Brucher circular trail Br2 to the most beautiful and historically significant places around Bruch and Dreis. Along the way, you will encounter the former oil mill, the historical Krugback oven, Dreis Castle with its vineyards, as well as natural forest and riverside paths along the Salm.
The DWV-certified hiking guide Bernd Weirich accompanies the approximately 3.5-hour tour and captivates with excitingly narrated knowledge about the history of the two villages and their attractions in the Salmtal. While you explore the small castle museum upon your return to the castle and delve into the mysterious legend of the castle maiden living in the tower, the hearty Döppekooche with homemade applesauce will be prepared and served afterward. This special castle and hiking experience is completed with a lively aperitif called “Burgfräulein.”
Bringing leashed dogs is permitted, and we expect consideration for fellow hikers, thank you.
