The former synagogue in Schweich, built in 1852, was once the religious center of the Jewish community and is now a significant site of remembrance. Join us on an exciting journey into the past: Learn more about Jewish life in the area, the eventful history of the building, and its changing use up to the present day. A special emphasis is placed on the former prayer room: Its design will be explained vividly and placed in the context of Jewish practices of faith – from the significance of the Torah shrine to its use as a house of gathering, prayer, and learning.
