After an introduction to paddling techniques, the guided paddle tour of a total of 14 km from Saarburg to Konz-Könen continues in three-person canoes. The most adventurous part is the 7 km stretch through the nature reserve Wiltinger Saarbogen. There, rapids of the category calm water, level I - III are conquered.
On flowing stretches, you let yourself drift. This way, there is an opportunity to discover rare animals and plants without disturbing them. Afterwards, the group stops for a break before continuing the tour on the navigable Saar Canal up to Konz-Könen.
During this, the significant contrasts to the nature reserve can be admired.
The canoe expedition is suitable for paddling beginners.
The Wiltinger Saarbogen is the only remaining non-navigable and largely natural stretch of river of the lower Saar.
It has been a nature reserve since 1997, featuring light rapids, still water zones, river meadow sections, wetlands, and reeds.
This area serves as a magnificent retreat for rare animal and plant species. Some of them, such as a gray heron, cormorant, kingfisher, or traces of beavers, we are certain to see.
