Children, Guys, Church - a journalistic song evening for Hildegard Knef (charity concert)
Children, Guys, Church - a journalistic song evening for Hildegard Knef (benefit concert) with Dr. Christiane Florin, journalist at Deutschlandfunk (singing and speaking), René Breuer (piano) Maria Mesrian (speaker)
Cosmopolitan, wicked, witty: This is how Knef stepped out of her role. She was not a good little girl and not a girl for the home movie. She transformed from actress to singer, from singer to writer. Hildegard Knef followed her talents and showed that even in the post-war period there were more important female life questions than: What should I wear? What should I cook?
Inspired by the poetically provocative songs, Christiane Florin has written a tribute to Knef for the 100th birthday. She sings some of her chansons and shares stories from her life: from her beginnings in the Nazi era and the scandal surrounding the "sinner," her triumphs and failures, from the red roses and the thorn against patriarchy. She tells of a free woman who provoked with spirit and courage in the strait-laced Federal Republic.
The proceeds will be donated to the Leuchtzeichen counseling center of the association Umsteuern! Robin Sisterhood e. V. (Cologne) for those affected by sexualized violence in church contexts.
