Lese-Show mit Katharina Afflerbach "Bergsommer" - Altstadt Buchhandlung

For a summer, living like Heidi and the Alm-Öhi in a hut high up in the mountains, herding goats and milking cows, who doesn't dream of that? The native of Siegerland, Katharina Afflerbach, has dared to do it multiple times, and her book “Bergsommer” became a SPIEGEL bestseller. Now she is coming with her reading show to the Altstadt Buchhandlung in Wittlich.

Reading show? Yes, because it is truly more than just a reading. Among other surprises, the evening will turn into a participatory yodeling course for the guests. Between the stories, there will be singing and yodeling that can be heard all the way to the Swiss Alps. 

In between, Katharina Afflerbach also lets thoughtful and gentle tones resonate. Because working as a dairymaid on a mountain pasture has, in reality, not much to do with the dream that so many people have. To start milking at a quarter past five, hauling fence posts up the mountain, chopping wood and haying, milking and mucking, and doing this for four months straight, Katharina Afflerbach and her “office body” have to get used to the grueling work and the closeness in the mountain hut. 

But she is rewarded for her efforts, and how! You can experience this up close.
