Maffay Pur

With 50 million records sold, Peter Maffay is the most successful German artist. Enough reason to dedicate a tribute to the music of this man.

Wolfgang Terne, like Maffay himself, an immigrant to Germany, won the German Rock & Pop Award in 2019 outright in the "best cover band" category with MAFFAYpur. Even Peter personally sent a greeting to the band, and Bertram Engel, the legendary drummer of Maffay and Lindenberg, came on stage for a fun jam.

The MAFFAYpur band consists of musicians who earned their stripes with PUR, Herbert Grönemeyer, Thomas Anders, and other top artists. They were finalists in the SAT.1 show The Tribute, which aired on Fridays at prime time at 8:15 PM. "Über sieben Brücken", "Es war Sommer", "So bist Du", "Josie" - all the great hits of Peter Maffay in one evening, so strikingly similar that you occasionally have to pinch yourself. Music from 1970 to today – that is the soundtrack of life – be there!
