Martinsumzug

On Saturday, November 14, 2026, the traditional St. Martin's procession will take place in Enkirch. Starting at 4:30 PM, participants will gather in front of the Old School on Priesterstraße, with the procession set to begin around 5:00 PM. The parade will pass the weekly market through the picturesque Königstraße and Modches Kehr, leading to Herrenberg, where the large Martin's fire awaits the attendees at the camper parking area.

St. Martin, high on horseback, will be accompanied by the Enkirch Winzerkapelle, the volunteer fire department, and the Red Cross. At the fire, the children will narrate the story of Saint Martin, accompanied by the musical sounds of the Winzerkapelle.

After the performances, it will be time for the traditional Martin's pretzel, which will be distributed to all children. This sweet pastry symbolizes community and sharing, the values that St. Martin represents. Afterwards, the community invites everyone to a cozy gathering, where we can honor St. Martin and his deeds in the typical Enkirch manner with drinks, punch, mulled wine, and a snack. The delivery of wood for the Martin's fire (no painted wood and no bulky waste!!) can take place on Saturday, November 14, 2026 from 9:00 -12:00 PM at a known location in the Mosel forecourt
