Wine harmony with star cellist Arne Zeller: award-winning virtuosity meets a special atmosphere!
Curiosity and Versatility
The 20-year-old cellist has already won first prizes at several international competitions. Last year, his powerful yet elegant playing captivated the jury of the Budapest Cello Competition to such an extent that he was awarded both the Grand Prix and the audience award as the youngest participant.
This season, Arne Zeller makes his debut at the Mosel Music Festival – at our "Weinklang" in the Haus Klosterberg of Markus Molitor.
Arne Zeller started playing the cello at the age of six and from the age of 14 was a junior student at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" Leipzig. Since October 2024, he has been studying for a bachelor's degree with Frans Helmerson at the Kronberg Academy – and won the International Pau Casals Award in the same year. He won 1st prize at the International Cellowettbewerb Anna Kull in Graz in 2020, 2nd prize at the International Brahmswettbewerb in Pörtschach in 2023, and is a multiple first prize winner of the "Jugend musiziert" competition both as a soloist and in chamber music.
At the age of 13, Arne Zeller made his debut with Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations; he has since given solo performances with the Philharmonie Baden-Baden, the Euro Symphony Orchestra, the Kremerata Baltica, the Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra, and the National Philharmonic of Budapest. In 2023, he performed multiple times with the hr-Sinfonieorchester and the University Orchestra Mainz in schools in Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate to bring classical music closer to young people.
He has played in concert halls such as the Musikverein Vienna, the Tonhalle Zurich, the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Laeiszhalle Hamburg, the Liszt Academy Budapest, the Conservatoire de musique de Genève, and the Kennedy Center in Washington. In 2024, he performed as a Junior Artist at "Chamber Music Connects the World" in Kronberg. Arne Zeller's concert program is "shaped by his special
