Experience Karl-Heinz Steffens & Friends live at Machern Monastery - a musical delight
A customised start
‘The Lüxem Music Society was my musical family,’ says Karl-Heinz Steffens, looking back. And here, too, the clarinet became his instrument, with which his career soon took off: with his soulful, precious, beautiful tone, he became a celebrated solo clarinettist in the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, then with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. But in 2007, Karl-Heinz Steffens packed up his instrument and took up the baton, first becoming General Music Director in Halle and then leading the German State Philharmonic Orchestra of Rhineland-Palatinate. He is now in his fifth season as chief conductor and artistic advisor to the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra in Sweden. Today, he only plays the clarinet for fun - to play chamber music and with friends. To kick off the moselmusikfestival's anniversary season, ‘Karl-Heinz Steffens & Friends’ invite you to three concerts at Machern Monastery, the synagogue culture and conference centre in Wittlich and his home town of Lüxem. It is an honour for us!
