Mosel Music Festival: Alter Ego - a journey into unexplored sound worlds with David Orlowsky and David Bergmüller
The combination of lute and clarinet has no historical precedents. David Orlowsky and David Bergmüller have taken their time to develop their shared musical language. Based on baroque compositions from Henry Purcell to John Dowland, as well as four original compositions, they create an unheard musical experience.
Together they embark on a journey into unexplored sound worlds. In this process, the clarinet tells of a bygone era, while merging with the lute into polyrhythmic structures, as new and old times flow together in their original compositions.
Clarinetist David Orlowsky achieved at the age of 16 what many in the industry only dream of: His music's allure draws classical fans, jazz lovers, families with children, and twentysomethings in sneakers to his concerts. David Bergmüller was born in Tyrol, now lives in Vienna, and is one of Europe's most distinguished lutenists.
