The exhibition in the Nature Experience Church St. Remaclus in Cochem-Cond invites you to discover the fascinating diversity of the local nature with new eyes.

The exhibition at the Nature Experience Church of St. Remaclus in Cochem-Cond invites visitors to discover the fascinating diversity of local nature with new eyes.

Impressive nature photographs reveal the habitats of the Moselle region—from steep vineyards and dry stone walls to the Moselle banks and the structurally rich lowland forests of the cultural landscape.

For the implementation of the exhibition, certified nature experience guides Peter Raueiser and Klaus Donhauser took responsibility as dedicated project leaders in collaboration with the Friends of St. Remaclus and the parish of St. Mary Magdalene Cochem. With their concept, they connect nature observation, environmental education, and regional identity into a tangible overall experience.

The church itself is a significant sacred building of post-war modernism. It was consecrated in 1968 according to the plans of Emil Steffann and Heinz Bienefeld and is considered an outstanding example of modern church architecture that consciously fits into the Moselle landscape. The simple structure made of regional slate, the clear spatial design, and the central liturgical arrangement reflect the ideas of openness and communal gathering. The church's remarkable location above the Moselle, with a view of the opposite Reichsburg Cochem, creates an exciting interplay of history, landscape, and architecture.

The exhibition makes it clear how closely nature and culture are intertwined in the region. The photographers not only showcase the beauty of the landscape but also its ecological significance as a habitat for numerous animal and plant species.
