IMMERSING IN THE ART SCENE
In Rhineland-Palatinate, studios will open their doors on the weekends of September 12 and 13
as well as September 19 and 20!

On two consecutive weekends – September 12 and 13 as well as September 19 and 20
2026 – numerous studios across Rhineland-Palatinate will open their doors. Each day from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
visitors have the opportunity to meet artists in their
workspaces, gain immediate insight into their work, and learn about the
places where art is created.
The event is organized by the Professional Association of Visual Artists
Rhineland-Palatinate (BBK RLP). For many years, this format has offered the chance to
bring artists and the public into direct contact. The usually
not publicly accessible studios become places of encounter,
exchange, and conversation about contemporary art for two weekends.
The state of Rhineland-Palatinate and the Ministry for Communities, Construction, Housing and Culture
financially support the project. This makes it possible to showcase current art not only in museums,
galleries, and exhibition houses, but also to provide insights into the artistic diversity of the state
away from established exhibition venues.
The Open Studios consciously present themselves as an accessible offer.
No prior knowledge is required: visitors can spontaneously
drop by, view works, and discuss with the artists about works,
materials, methods, or the very practical conditions of artistic work.
In 2026, more than 180 artists from all over Rhineland-Palatinate will once again participate.
The spectrum ranges from painting, drawing, and graphics to photography and video, as well as
sculpture, installation, performance, and action art. It is precisely this variety that makes the Open
Studios a special opportunity to get to know very different
artistic positions and workplaces within a single weekend.
