Saturday, April 12, 2025, 7 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2025, 2 p.m. “Passions - a passion play for our time” “Passions” is not a traditional passion play. It is also something for people who might otherwise have reservations about church. To this end, the play uses modern texts and music to shift the accent to an examination of individual characters and the question: What does the Passion tell us today? Figures such as Judas, Mary Magdalene and Pilate are at the center of the reflection. New this year is the impressive opening scene with John the Baptist. The events are commented on by the specially founded project choir with lyrically appropriate pieces ranging from gospel to Bette Midler and Gregor Meyle. The performance on Saturday evening will take place by candlelight for the first time. Admission to both performances is free, donations are welcome. It is advisable to arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the performance.
