Via Mosel - Open House:
Experience the most beautiful wineries and wine towns of the boundless Moselle Valley in one weekend, known for the quality of their tourist infrastructure, as well as their remarkable historical or contemporary architecture.

Along the entire Moselle, the Via Mosel wineries selected by a panel of experts will open their doors for visitors from April 18 to 19, 2026. In addition to wine tastings, a diverse architectural program awaits you: exciting building tours, architect discussions, stories from the builders...

The Dr. Frey Winery will be open on April 18 from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM and on Sunday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
In the machinery hall, there will be an exhibition on sustainable building, complemented by a workshop on clay construction. Additionally, the buildings of the winery can be visited, including the biomass heating system and concepts for e-mobility. The focus in the vinotheque will be on an open wine tasting and wine sales.

The Winery:
The existing old building (built in 1964) of the winery was expanded in 2012 with an extension (intergenerational living), as well as a new winery building (events and sales, wine storage, office, guest apartment) and a machinery hall with heat center.

The solid wood construction has a high degree of prefabrication, thus enabling quick assembly on site. In addition, the winery is supplied with heat from biomass such as miscanthus, wood chips, and pellets, and the rooms are heated using ceiling heating with active clay building panels.
