Ralph Brauner & Timo Groß

A musical-poetic solo evening with Martina Roth. Composition, guitar by Johannes Conen. On December 29, 1939, Gertrud Kolmar begins writing her story "Susanna." On February 13, 1940, she completes the manuscript, which consists of 42 pages. It remained unpublished for decades. "Susanna" is the last surviving prose work by Gertrud Kolmar. Martina Roth plays both characters, one and the other, in a virtuoso solo performance. How the fantasy world of the girl enchants the objectivity of the educator is made visible, as is the sorrow over the crime against Gertrud Kolmar. An enhancing element is the incorporation of the fantasy-saturated poetry of the author and its musical setting, composed by Johannes Conen. Tickets and more information at www.kulturgiesserei-saarburg.de. An event as part of the Just Great Music Session.

A musically poetic solo evening with Martina Roth.
Composition, guitar Johannes Conen.

On December 29, 1939, Gertrud Kolmar began writing her story "Susanna". On February 13, 1940, she completed the manuscript, which comprises 42 pages. It remained unpublished for decades.

Gertrud Kolmar also shares in the figure of Susanna, in her poetic quest for life, which is first and foremost a search for language. However, what appears in this narrative as two figures were two opposing forces in Gertrud Kolmar's life, which was determined by a tearing contrast. "Susanna" is the last surviving prose work by Gertrud Kolmar. Martina Roth plays both figures, the One and the Other, in a virtuoso solo act. As the fantasy world of the girl enchants the objectivity of the educator, this is made visible, as is the mourning over the crime against Gertrud Kolmar.

Affect-enhancing element is the inclusion of the fantasy-saturated poetry of the author and its setting to music, composed by Johannes Conen.
