The Koblenz Garden Culture wants to celebrate a beautiful season opening in the best spring weather on the meadows at the Deutsches Eck. Since the castle is undergoing extensive renovations, the traditional venue was changed last year. The special ambiance of the Deutsches Eck has thrilled everyone equally. Therefore, this year visitors of all ages are invited to linger, enjoy, discover, stroll, and shop on the meadows behind the Kaiser Wilhelm Monument. The new season will be officially opened at 1:00 PM by Mr. David Langner, the Mayor of Koblenz. Particularly the hearts of plant lovers will beat faster on this day.
The popular garden market will again be enlivened by selected exhibitors. Here you will find new and rare plants as well as inspirations for the seasonal design of your home garden or balcony. Objects from the field of garden art and garden furnishings complement the offerings. Those who have questions about the care or even the rescue of their plants can turn to the plant doctors of the city gardeners. The BUGA Friends Koblenz will once again offer their popular plant exchange, and the seed borrowing service of the Koblenz City Library will also be represented. Borrow seeds, plant and care for them, and return some of the harvested seeds to the city library. The successful enjoyment market featuring special delicacies will continue as well. In the unique ambiance of the flower courtyard next to the St. Kastor Church, an exhibition featuring extraordinary bonsai specimens will be showcased.
The members and experts are happy to share information about their hobby, which they pursue with great passion, and will answer questions about care. Ed Wood will stride through the audience as a living tree on stilts. A colorful crafting and participation program will be available for children. Additionally, Tim Salabim will once again bring laughter to young and old alike. Various play stations will invite participation as well. Regional producers will round off the festival with a culinary offering.
