Sarah Chaksad moves between soundscapes, cultures and genres - and combines them to create music that is as personal as it is universal. As a saxophonist, composer and bandleader, she is shaping the European jazz scene with her ‘Large Ensemble’. The 13 musicians - including two other JTI Trier Jazz Award winners - define ‘big band’ in a refreshingly new and different way by integrating instruments that are atypical for jazz.
