How can the impressive diversity of species in the Moselle vineyards be brought into one's own garden? Nature-friendly gardens can serve as valuable stepping stones for rare animal and plant species and significantly contribute to connecting habitats. This seminar shows how typical structures and plant species of the vineyard landscapes along the Moselle can be implemented and promoted in private gardens – for more ecological diversity, structural richness, and habitat quality. Participants will gain insight into the ecology of the Moselle terraces as well as practical design recommendations. The seminar combines theoretical fundamentals with an extensive practical part in the nature-oriented garden of Thorben Meischies. The target audience includes garden owners, nature enthusiasts, winemakers, municipalities, and anyone who wants to make their garden ecologically more valuable. Speakers: Friedhelm Strickler: Master gardener and nationally recognized expert in nature-friendly garden design. For many years, he has been involved in projects to promote biodiversity in private and public green spaces. www.gaertnerei-strickler.de Thorben Meischies: High school teacher, nature experience guide, and author of the accompanying book "Biodiversity – From the Vineyard to the Garden." After his training in Bremen, he now lives by the Moselle, where he has transformed his own garden from a conventional setup into a nature-friendly habitat. www.naturgarten-mosel.de
