Guided Tour
A stone age journey from the Igeler Column to the Igeler Fault.
The Igeler Column is the largest preserved Roman burial monument in Germany. Another special feature is that it is not in a museum, but stands at its original location.
The imagery primarily depicts scenes from the everyday life of the cloth merchant family, alongside mythological scenes. Thus, the monument becomes a medium for advertising – and thereby, in a way, a precursor to the advertising columns. After the visit, a short walk takes us to the Igeler Fault and to the Grutenhäuschen. We conclude with a joint stop at the Löwener Mühle (self-pay).
